FRIDAY, MARCH 17, 2023 | 4:00 P.M.
Mihir Bafna
Mihir Bafna of the Zhang Group will lead the discussion on two tasks that are enabled by the availability of spatially resolved single cell gene expression data: (1) integrating cell location data and gene expression data to learn cell identity (paper: SPICEMIX Enables Integrative Single-Cell Spatial Modeling of Cell Identity); (2) infer cell-cell interactions (paper: Screening Cell-Cell Communication in Spatial Transcriptomics via Collective Optimal Transport). Specifically, we would like to discuss with the community the approaches of evaluating the learned cell identity in paper 1 and the principles and assumptions used in paper 2 for CCI inference.
SCG Journal Club
This meeting brings together diverse researchers across GT campus including GTRI, who have interests in single-cell genomics. We discuss topics from AI/ML applications to empirical studies using diverse single-cell profiling methods including single-cell RNAseq, ATACseq, genome sequencing, and others.
The Single Cell Genomics Journal Club meets every other Friday at 4 pm on Teams. Please email Stefanie Boettle to be added to the Teams group and email list. Click HERE for the biweekly list of presenters and papers.
